KUMOO is operated by Faberohmo Co., Ltd., based in South Korea ("KUMOO", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and disclose personal information when you visit thekumoo.com, place an order, or contact us.

Our online store is powered by Shopify. We are responsible for the personal information we process to operate KUMOO, while Shopify and other service providers may also have their own responsibilities for the information they process.

1. Shopping without an account

You can purchase from KUMOO without creating a customer account or logging in. We do not require a KUMOO username or password, and we do not operate a customer-account registration system.

Guest checkout still requires information needed to process your payment and deliver your order. We use your email address to send order confirmations, shipping updates, and other messages about your purchase. For order questions, returns, or privacy requests, contact support@faberohmo.com.

If you choose a payment service that has its own account or sign-in process, that process is managed by the payment provider under its own privacy policy. It does not require you to create a KUMOO customer account.

2. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you use our website, we collect or receive:

  • Order and contact information: your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses, and a telephone number when required or provided for checkout or delivery.

  • Purchase and transaction information: products ordered, quantities, order numbers, order dates, payment status, delivery details, and records of cancellations, returns, exchanges, and refunds.

  • Payment-related information: payment method, transaction references, payment confirmation, and limited payment details made available by the payment provider, such as masked card information. Full payment credentials are handled by the applicable payment provider. Please do not send full card numbers or security codes to us by email.

  • Customer-support information: the contents of your emails or contact-form submissions, your order details, and any photographs or videos you send to explain missing parts, damage, or other product issues.

  • Website and device information: IP address, browser and device information, cookie identifiers, and information about pages visited and interactions with our website, including shopping-cart activity.

  • Email subscription information: your email address and subscription or consent preferences if you choose to receive KUMOO news or promotional emails.

We receive information directly from you, automatically through our website and its technologies, and from providers that help us process payments, deliver orders, and operate the store.

3. How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Process and confirm orders and payments.

  • Prepare, ship, and deliver products.

  • Send order confirmations, tracking information, and other purchase-related communications.

  • Respond to questions and handle returns, exchanges, refunds, and missing or damaged parts.

  • Maintain necessary transaction and customer-support records.

  • Operate and improve the website and understand how visitors use it, subject to applicable privacy choices.

  • Detect fraud, protect the store, and maintain the security of transactions.

  • Send promotional emails when you have subscribed or when otherwise permitted by applicable law.

  • Meet legal, accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

For customers in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal information on the applicable legal basis: performance of a contract or steps requested before a purchase, compliance with legal obligations, consent where required, or legitimate interests such as security and customer support, subject to your rights and interests. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

4. Who receives personal information

We disclose personal information where necessary to the following types of recipients:

  • Shopify: to host the store, provide checkout and related platform services, and support store operation and security.

  • Payment providers: to process payments, refunds, and payment-related security checks.

  • Delivery and logistics providers: including Korea Post EMS and any other carrier actually used for your order, to arrange delivery, tracking, and customs clearance where applicable.

  • Website, email, and support providers: to operate website features, manage communications, and provide technical assistance.

  • Professional advisers or public authorities: where necessary for accounting, legal compliance, a valid legal request, or protection of legal rights.

We limit disclosures to information relevant to the purpose. Some providers act on our behalf; others, including certain payment and delivery providers, may process information independently under their own privacy policies.

If we introduce a new service that materially changes how personal information is used or disclosed, we will update this policy and provide any notice or consent required by law.

5. Shopify and enhanced services

Shopify processes information to provide, secure, and improve its services. Certain processing is performed on our behalf, and certain processing is performed by Shopify for its own purposes as described in its privacy policies.

Where Shopify Network Intelligence or other enhanced services are enabled for our store, Shopify may use information about interactions with KUMOO together with information from interactions with other merchants and Shopify to provide enhanced services, such as personalization, fraud prevention, and advertising-related features. Applicable consent and opt-out choices affect how information may be used for these purposes.

To learn about Shopify's processing and exercise rights relating to information Shopify processes independently, visit the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify Privacy Portal.

6. Cookies and your choices

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for functions such as keeping items in your cart, providing checkout, and protecting website security. Depending on the services enabled, these technologies may also be used for analytics, personalization, or advertising.

Where consent is required, non-essential technologies should only be used after you provide the relevant consent. You can manage your choices through the cookie banner or privacy controls made available on the website. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings, although blocking necessary cookies may affect cart and checkout functions.

Where applicable law provides a right to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information, you can use the applicable website privacy controls or email support@faberohmo.com. We honor legally applicable opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, in accordance with applicable law and our supported privacy tools.

7. Email communications

You do not need to subscribe to promotional emails to purchase from KUMOO.

If you subscribe, you can unsubscribe using the link in our promotional emails or by contacting support@faberohmo.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary order, shipping, refund, or customer-support communications.

8. International processing and transfers

KUMOO operates from South Korea. Shopify, payment providers, delivery providers, and other providers may process or store personal information in other countries. International orders may also require disclosure of delivery information to carriers or customs authorities in the destination country.

We use the applicable legal basis and safeguards for international transfers. Where required, these include appropriate contractual protections, recognized transfer mechanisms, additional disclosures, or consent. For transfers subject to EEA or UK requirements, recognized mechanisms may include adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, and applicable UK transfer arrangements.

9. How long we keep information

We retain information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by applicable law.

For records subject to South Korea's electronic-commerce record-retention requirements, the relevant periods include:

  • Records concerning contracts or withdrawal from a purchase: 5 years.

  • Records concerning payment and supply of goods: 5 years.

  • Records concerning consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years.

  • Records concerning displays and advertisements: 6 months, where applicable.

These periods apply to the relevant records, rather than requiring us to retain every category of personal information for the same period. We retain other information according to its purpose, applicable legal obligations, consent status, and any unresolved dispute. Marketing subscription information is retained until you unsubscribe or it is no longer needed; a limited suppression record may be retained to respect your opt-out.

When information is no longer needed and no retention obligation applies, we delete it or anonymize it. Electronic information is deleted using methods intended to prevent recovery, and paper records are securely destroyed. Records retained solely to meet legal obligations are restricted to that purpose.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information and limit access to those who need it for their work. However, no website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Please avoid emailing passwords, full payment credentials, or unnecessary sensitive information. When sending product photographs or videos, avoid including unrelated people or personal documents.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Request deletion, subject to legal retention requirements.

  • Request restriction or suspension of processing or object to certain processing.

  • Receive or transfer a copy of information in circumstances where a portability right applies.

  • Withdraw consent or opt out of marketing and applicable advertising-related processing.

  • Complain to the relevant privacy or data-protection authority.

Email support@faberohmo.com to make a request. You do not need a KUMOO customer account. Include enough information for us to locate your records, such as the email address used for your order and, if relevant, your order number. We may request reasonable additional information to verify your identity or an authorized representative's authority.

We will respond within the applicable legal timeframe. Some requests may be limited where information must be retained by law or another permitted exception applies. We will explain applicable limitations and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

12. Children and young customers

Our checkout and customer-support services are intended for adults. If a child wishes to purchase a KUMOO product, a parent or guardian should place the order and provide their own contact and delivery information.

We do not knowingly collect children's personal information in circumstances requiring parental consent without that consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us improperly, contact support@faberohmo.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Other websites

Our website may link to third-party websites, including payment, delivery, or social-media services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Please review those policies when using their services.

14. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, services, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
